I will warn you all NEVER get the coolint above the full line other wise it will explode the cap of and all your coolint will drip out and it will take a long time to fill up the radiadot useing the resovor i probs filled my resovor like 15 times in 7 hours coz it keeps on empting to go to the radiator :down::down::down:

Well I posted this in another one of your threads I think but here goes again. That reservoir is just that, a holding tank. It doesn't recirculate back to the radiator. All it is there for is to hold overflow from the radiator when it warms up and the coolant expands.

Oh, and therefore you can't fill the radiator by doing that, you have to fill it through the cap on the top, which only takes about 20 seconds

thanks man but where is the cap? under the radiator cover?

Two things:

1.) The resevoir is not just a holding tank. The Banshee does have a recovering coolant system by design. It just doesn't work very well, therefore some people can get away with not running a coolant resevoir.

2.) Whoever started the rumor that the Banshee cooling system in a non-recovering systhem would probably have alot of friends over on Planet Sand as it really sounds like something one of those guys would make up.

Just get rid of the stupid thing. I dont even know anybody that still has in on there.

Well best of luck using it as a recirculating tank cuz chances are it aint gonna work. So if you're basing your engines cooling on that you're F'd.

I am not sure that makes sense? What are you trying to say? :ermm:

I would like to say for most folks with stock cylinders in relatively temperate climates, it doesn't matter whether the coolant bottle is there or not as long as you check your coolant level every once in awhile.

This is a bit off topic, but if you run a set of the new Twister billet cylinders, all of a sudden you coolant recovery system starts working. If you do a search on the topic Bansh-eman and I had a lengthy discussion about cooling sytem theory and the design of the Banshee cooling system. I am not sure what I am going to do with my triple, I have a similair cooling setup to the Twister cylinders in my cylinder block. I ma not sure if I am going to set it up as a constant loss cooling system or a recovering cooling system. :geek:

I'm trying to tell him to make sure to check the radiator for water and not just fill the reservoir and hope it recirculates into the system. Just tryin to cover both ends to make sure his shit doesn't blow up, lol.

Well here's what I do (did actually, just took off coolant bottle). If I ever emptied the radiator I would make sure everything is hooked back up, fill it up with coolant, leave the radiator plastic cover off and go warm the bike up good then come back, let it cool, and check the radiator. Rarely did I have any overflow into the reservoir and now it just drains at teh bottom of my frame, but I check it every once in awhile just to make sure.

If you keep losing water for some reason there may be a problem elsewhere. I.E. overheating causing coolant to expand more than usual, leaking coolant into oil, etc.

well i filled up the radiator under the plastics and my coolint resova is full (not over flowing) do you guyz think im ok or is my cooling system always gonna be a peace of shi and me needing to pay for a new 1?

If you have it full and it stays full (the radiator) then you're probably fine. I sometimes wander off topic..............this was one of those times.

he who cant spell 'coolant', be really heated when his shit blows up
