sleeper06 Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 I have an 06 limited edition with stock milled head and 150psi of compression. I run 50/50 race gas/93. Im running stock timing but have adjustable plate. I have an aggressive porting job on intake/exhaust. The quad absolutally rips as it sits . Im at sea level and 340mains with 30pilots. If I bump the timing to +4 will I gain or will I loose the zing up top. Will advanced timing help burn the good fuel. Quote

Good idea if not once you start raising the compression. I think a +4 to +6 timing advance will be noticeable....it might sacrifice a tad on top, but...doubt you'd even notice it. Timing and compression advances pickup the lack of bottom and mid a non-powervalved motor like the OEM banshee cylinders have (or don't have). Careful...though. You're at an area where more timing could increase the need for more octane, more than a 50/50 mix. Not saying it will...just be careful, listen to your engine and read your plugs often.... Quote
Ducman Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 +4 should help your power from bottom to top, you might start hurting top end if you went a lot more than +4. If you are jetted perfectly now, then go up one main size with the +4 timing. Quote
