I'm going to the dunes for the first time during presidents day weekend. Do fronts for the dunes make a big difference compared to going with regular dirt tires? If so any suggestions on which ones to get and from where?

Thanks

In the short term, No. Riding on the front stock knobbies in the sand is just fine. But I only ride sand so having some dune tires works best for me. But if you want some suggestions, You cant go wrong with Sand Star's or Mohawks and the ones in my sig are Sand Tires unlimited Razor backs and I love them.

Dont worry about it at all.

Although i have alway bought the sand tires for front.

I have found that the bigger balloon looking fronts will help you float on top of the sand, or you have the super skinny small tire which i use for racing the hill which are nice and small, light weight, etc.

Pick your poison.

If you were dragging you would want some smooth buff tires. I have always run knobbies, but I am going to get some mohawks this year.

I agree 100%. I run the same STU front tires. You will notice a marked improvement in cornering over knobbies.

it only makes a difference if your really trying to notice i have ridden with both and there is really no MAJOR difference other than front sand tires look a hell of a lot better.....especially skat track ultra buffs

When I was 15 I got my new front sand tires on my LT250R. I went flying out of the parking lot and pitch the ass end sideways to go around the corner just like I always do. I rolled it, so yeah I noticed a difference.
