Big Mike NY Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) As I mentioned in a previous post last week, my Banshee is undergoing some minor porting work, forged pistons, 19c domes along with the mods listed in my sig. 95% of the riding I do is trail riding with occasional top end blasts. I am currently running the stock front and rear sprockets with 20x11x10 rear tires (holeshots). What type of gearing do you guys recommend I go with to get the most out of the type of riding I do? I have always been a fan of a nice woods port and stock gearing or maybe even on tooth up in the front. If your getting a woods port I would go one tooth up in front, your already going to have that low end grunt from the porting. Quote
dajogejr Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 I would leave the gearing stock, ride it as is once "transformed" and see how it acts. If you have to shift too soon....(not from spinning tires) then go up one on the front. If the gears bog...and you want more "grunt" ...go one down on the front.... Quote

I'll wait until the work is done and see how she reacts in the trails. Then I will make my decision. I'm good at changing to many things at one time and I know thats not good. Quote

I have a trail port by the baddest porter to ever grace the Banshee HQ (me) 20cc domes +3 timing LRD pipes Uni Filter in modded box ( I switched from Pods due to constant problems trail riding with them) I run 93 octane with an additive. And my dick has grown 3" since changing the gearing. But honestly it's really a little low. You may want to stick to stock. Quote
