sweetquads Posted September 30, 2006 Report Posted September 30, 2006 Just sold my alkys so i need some gas carbs. I am a dealer for PWK so i am gonna get those but which ones. My banshee had 38mm Mikunis so does that mean i should get 38mm gas ones? What about those air strykers how well do they work on a drag banshee that also is used for duning? I need to get some carbs right away before the end of the nice weather  Quote

sweetquads Posted September 30, 2006 Author Report Posted September 30, 2006 i'd go with the 39 pwk's . Why 39's over 38's? What about the airstrykers, you know anything about them? Quote
blueshee03 Posted September 30, 2006 Report Posted September 30, 2006 Why 39's over 38's? What about the airstrykers, you know anything about them? yeh i run 35mm airstrykers now.they are a great carb but seem just a bit tougher to get jetted in than regular pwk's.they come with richer slides in them and in the way they are designed with the fins and such in them they atomize the fuel better so they require just a bit richer slide and such. rocketboy Posted October 1, 2006 Report Posted October 1, 2006 depends on what you want to do with it but for a big cheetah id get dual 38 a.s carbs or dual 39pwks Quote
platinumjason Posted October 1, 2006 Report Posted October 1, 2006 Damn, a carb dealer asking for input?? You should have stuck with those Mikunis and switched them to gas! Quote
[email protected] Posted October 1, 2006 Report Posted October 1, 2006 you just switched from alky ? I recall you switching from alky to race gas so you could run your nitrous and hopefully offset the HP differnce of the alky...... Anyhow PWK is way better then the PJ , and more air flow the better ....... so go with the 38's . Quote
sweetquads Posted October 1, 2006 Author Report Posted October 1, 2006 Damn, a carb dealer asking for input?? You should have stuck with those Mikunis and switched them to gas! Well i am a dealer for 1000's of products. You dont really expect me to be an expert in all of them do ya? Thanks for your input though you just switched from alky ? I recall you switching from alky to race gas so you could run your nitrous and hopefully offset the HP differnce of the alky...... Anyhow PWK is way better then the PJ , and more air flow the better ....... so go with the 38's . Well i flip floped back and forth on the decision a few times before i made a final decision. After dealing with the alky a few times i decided i would rather lose a little HP rather than deal with it. I had also decided to use NOS WITH the alky but i am gonna just go with gas, This time its final since i already sold the alky carbs, no turning back now  OK so why go with the 38's rather than the 39's? They are the same price if that makes a difference. Quote
platinumjason Posted October 1, 2006 Report Posted October 1, 2006 (edited) Well i am a dealer for 1000's of products. You dont really expect me to be an expert in all of them do ya? Thanks for your input though Not trying to be a dick or nothing but being you're a dealer and people ask you for input on what they should run carb wise for their setup, what do you do? I just dont see how you can be a dealer for something and not really know anything about it. Edited October 1, 2006 by platinumjason Quote
rocketboy Posted October 1, 2006 Report Posted October 1, 2006 even dealers need advise . the differecne between the 2 carb choices wouldnt amount to much difference in power but id get the 38mm airstrkers(a tad harder to jet though) because they have a more modern circuitry and the slightly smaller bore may give you back some torque that youd lose by not running alky anymore .just my 2 cents Quote

Like i said, im a dealer for 1000's of parts how am i supposed to know how they work in every situation on all vehicles? You dont really expect that do you? BTW if a customer asks about something i dont know about, i just say that i dont know. I know this is a far cry from most dealers who will just say some BS or just flat out talk shit about something they know nothing about, but hey i like to be different. Quote
