okbeast Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Well in your sig it says you have 250 mains? That is way too low IMO. What mods do you have airbox wise? Quote
BRIAN BANSHEE Posted September 19, 2006 Author Report Posted September 19, 2006 (edited) uni pod's in a cfm aluminium airbox , i think thats what its called i cant remember, it says 250's but it's just not right. WOT thers' a pop and i just cant get rid of it Edited September 19, 2006 by BRIAN BANSHEE Quote
dajogejr Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Depending on your porting....you're ballpark..but a little lean I'd say. throw 280s in there...see what that does.... I'm taking you mean your temps to be Celsius....right? Put a 280 main in, MAKE sure your carbs are sync'd too, then go do a proper plug chop. http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/plugchop.html By chance, do you still have your TORS on the bike? Electrical can cause a pop, too...and TORS are almost always the culprit... Quote
BRIAN BANSHEE Posted September 19, 2006 Author Report Posted September 19, 2006 it's just some mild porting just too clean it up a bit. and yes temps are celcius carbs are sync'd and yes i do still have TORS, BUT it is unplugged and the caps are tight and snug, BUT I was looking at my stator earlier (stock) and i noticed that some of the coating ove rthe copper wire is starting to crack and come off. Couls this be part of the problem? because no matter what i put in for a jet the plugs really dont seem to be changin a whole lot nor does the popping sound? once again thankx fellow hqer's YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!! dajogejr Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 You can Ohm test the stator and coil, specs are in your Clymers manual... If everything checks out...time to look for an air leak... Quote
BRIAN BANSHEE Posted September 19, 2006 Author Report Posted September 19, 2006 i'll try the tester, i really hope it's the stator. BUT all the same i just had the cases split cause i split the lower in the corner by the shift star on the driver side, and when reassembling I made sure i used lots of gasket maker when i put it back together, and it IS running slightly better, but not much!!! so i dont think it's an airleak. I've even went back down to stock jets 200's and low and behold, it actually had more power, BUT NO DETENATION, plugs still looked rich. I CAN'T FIGURE THIS THING OUT!!!! Quote
