White06Shee Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 ok i was wondering if i was to run race gas would i notice a diferance and if i milled the head would i have to run race gas also, and do i need to run a deferant oil ratio i run 91 octane and use 40:1, so could some people give some answers please Quote
sheefreak Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Racegas will not give you any gains. Racegas is necessary once you bump compression, and advance timing to keep your motor from detonating. So if you want to look at it as I bumped the compression and timing to gain some power, which now requires race fuel to run, then yes race gas will improve performance. Make sense? Quote
White06Shee Posted September 5, 2006 Author Report Posted September 5, 2006 yes makes alot of sense. now if i mill the head .030 would that be good or no, and what aabout the ration od gas to oil Quote
sheefreak Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 I run Klotz supertechniplate 40:1., depends on what oil you run. General rule is always safe w/32:1. I have never personally run a shaved head, always a cool head, so I am not sure what the volume of your domes would end up at, there for can't calculate a compression ratio. I am sure someone will chime in that has. I belive shaving it 30 you will still be able to run premium pump fuel. Another thing to keep in mind is if you don't have your crank welded, more compression could cause disaster. Quote
