Wellsy Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 (edited) Hi All I had a seized piston on the right cylinder on Saturday for the second time so its rebore time again after only three months. Please can you give me some guidence as to the jet sizes required. I run the shee on 97 octane pump fuel which is readily available in the UK. I mix 32:1 with quality valvoline oil. The tempreture at the moment is around 23 degrees celsius / 75 degrees fahrenheit. The shee is fitted with the following Vitos superstock pistons Vito 4mm Stroker Crank K&N in standard air box (lid on) PJ34's FMF Gold series headers with Power Core 2's Standard Head Any help would be appreciated as these melt downs are costing a fortune not to mention the fact that the cylinders only have one rebore left in them. 2strokesmoke Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 i would start by trying a different oil , and maybe a higher octane gas if you can get it Quote
dajogejr Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Aside from the above mentioned gas and oil...(did you mean 87 octane...or 97 as you typed? 97 is more than fine)... You should have your crank checked....and make sure your machine shop is boring those cylinders to specified clearances... Always bring your pistons to your builder so they're correctly matched. Vitos used to make their own cranks....a while back. Now they pretty much repackage and distribute Wiseco cranks. Their factory welds are dung, and any reputable builder will tell you to have the crank re-welded out of the box for strength...with most of them recommending stronger bearings for them as well. TZ or RZ bearings are the ticket... How do your spark plugs look? I'd try some tried and true Wiseco SuperLites, too...just for the hey of it. Quote
