racinokie13 Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 I hope someone can help me. I have read all through this site looking for the answers to my problem, no luck. Ok, I've got a 97 shee that will not kick. I used to be able to pull start it but not any more. Now to start off with I had no spark, but after changing the plugs and unplugging the TORS I finally have spark, but the shee still wont start. Yesterday I took off the head to check the rings, now how do I tell if I will need new rings. And is it normal for the piston to be carbon brown on the side just below the rings? Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated. Quote
Motoman991 Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 do a compression check and let us know what your compression is. you might need a rebuild if you were not able to kick start it and had to pull start it Quote
sweetshee4312 Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Ya do a comrpession cheak, i think good is like 110-120 psi in each cylander.....is its under that you wanna do a rebuild......did you cheak the carbs are you gettin fuel.... Quote
racinokie13 Posted June 2, 2006 Author Report Posted June 2, 2006 I did check the carbs. While I have the heads off im gonna go ahead and replace the piston rings while im in there, since there was noticible blow by. This weekend Ill get it all back together and do a compression test. I'll let you know the results. Quote
