How do you get old school dura blue axle nut off?

This thing is at least 7 years old and doesn't have the same design as the new dura blue nuts. It's kind of the same, has the the clip and collar with a nut over the collar but the nut is not split with a tightening bolt on it, it's just solid with six flats. I've tried getting the clip out with no success, got the nut to turn but i think it's just spinning on the collar....wtf am i a doing wrong?

If i'm thinkong correctly.... they are like stock 250r tighteners. The threads are reverse thread. So turn it far enough in so that you can get to the clip and remove. Good luck.
