fastass Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 Hi all, I have a 1997 banshee with a coolhead running 21 cc domes, its always giving me a hard time to start finally it wont start anymore.......so I went and tor down the top end.....The right side piston had alot of carbon build up on top of the piston and the left had a little.......but cylinders looked fine..my question is what size domes should I be running'????????? its a stock motor with pipes single carb conversion, vforce reeds and cool head.........should I go with a standered bore or go to a larger bore size now that I'm rebuilding??????any help would be greatly appreciated.. Oh and I run 91 pump gas........32:1 Quote
dennybyz Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 thats where you should be 21cc is safest for motor to still run pump gas......what was your compression at ? stock is 120psi and 21cc domes should give you 30 to 40 psi more .....boring it shouldnt make a difference to the 21cc domes runnig 22cc domes is stock and your only beniefit would be the cooling portion of the cool head make sure theres no slop in the bottom end while you have it apart....side to side is ok up and down is not good luck Quote
