01bansheefox Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 (edited) I cant quite figure out what it is but I just dont like how my shee handles on the MX track so im willing to do a straight trade. BansheeBoy17 Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Not sure if you want any tips or not. But heres a few things that are holding you back for sure. 34mm carbs (try some 28 or 30s) 21" front tires (definitly run 20's) 16 tooth front sprocket (16 for mx? are you crazy ?) power pro pipes (they look like drag pipes? trade them) handlebars (look like thier a pain in the ass) My banshees fine for mx and sx, just turn those mods around and it should be fine man. dont sell something you custom built. Hmm i was told bigger the carb the better? As long as its not to much for your engine to handle 2. I have some 19'' holeshots but those are way to small. Right now those are just stock tires. 3. 16 tooth again i was told to run the biggest sprocket possible as long as your engine can pull it. 4. The pipes are more focused on top end yes..... nothing to say there 5. Handlebars just havnt changed them, they came with something i bought on ebay. Quote
speedfreak350 Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 (edited) hes right those carbs are too big for the mods u have. sell them and get some smaller ones. then sell your pipes and get some fatties or toomies. After than go down a few gears on the front sprocket. Sorry but bigger is not always better. You should be able to sell those things and buy the new stuff with little to no extra money. camatv Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 holy cow! if it was me i would also highly consider selling it and tradeing for another... if you think you will get a 450 for it i dont even think so! BUT i do have a set of stock no torrs carbs w k+n filters and a set of fmf fattys pipe and silencer. these will help the bottom end and i would also definetely absolutely go back to stock gearing!!!! that 16 is killing you must feel like 5th gear on the start. also no matter what go to a set of kenda klaw 20 fronts and 20-11-9 rears this set up will hook better and let the bike turn.. you are a far ways off for a mx bike.. let me know if i can help oh and buy the way. in 1999 and 2000 the 2 banshee's i built for mx finished 1st and 2nd in the state mx races here in kansas. i had many top 1, 2, 3 wins on these bikes... so yes i know what i am talking about.. And 450's go for 4300-5000 here also, stock though. Anyway my 16front works perfect for me, my front end lifts up up until 4th gear if i WOT. For some reason I dont like my a-arms... I want +3 +1 i dont know I guess i really need to sit down and think things over im knida stuck right now....... I spent all this $$ on this set up now I want something differnt. Quote
