at the moment i have a 33mm and everything else is stock and im ordering shearers in the next few weeks......cant wait to crank that thing up....later down the road im gona get the 38 with some sort of stroker.......prollly a cub.......trinity said that you can take a 33-35mm manifold and boil it and fit it around the 38mm carb so ..... :dance:

Were you the guy that was saying the banshee was too slow? Cuz a single carb isn't gonna have the maximum amount of power available. It has its advantages, but dragging isn't one of em.

The problem with a 38mm, especially with stock porting, is that you'll have a vacuum issue at lower rpms. You could have a hard time jetting the needle and getting it to idle properly. Your low end could still suffer some due to the vacuum issue. It should pick up in the midrange and still give you smoother power than a pair of 35's, but remember that you need vacuum to have decent low end. The thing about duals is they provide enough vacuum in the lowend, but still breathe up top.

 

That's something no one can answer, you just have to try it and see how it performs.
