Andyman Posted November 13, 2005 Report Posted November 13, 2005 HEy all, Ok, so I went for a short ride on Friday, this is what happened. After filling it up, I checked the oil which was fine and took her for a ride. Bout 10 minutes into it, she simply kicked out on her own , and stalled. THen I could not get her started again, at least for another 10 minutes of constant kicking. Once started, she started making a sputtering sound and when I revved up as normal, she would have an up and down type of acceleration even when the throttle was in the same spot. There was no constant throttle simply slow sputtering along, LOTS OF SMOKE TOO! What the hell do I do about this? I dont know what to check on and I sure hope its just a blocked carb and not a busted head. Thanks Quote
Andyman Posted November 13, 2005 Author Report Posted November 13, 2005 BTW, I also noticed that the overall speed of the machine is not as it should be lately too. Just thought that might help, thanks Quote
STLBILL Posted November 13, 2005 Report Posted November 13, 2005 (edited) Hi Andyman: If you don't get many responses it's because the Banshee is a two-stroke liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine. I suggest you check with a four-stroke air-cooled forum. Someone over at http://www.exriders.com might be a good start since it's also a Honda. I think the ubiquitous 400ex is largely just a bigger bore and stroke version of what you have. Although I think the latest version is oil cooled. Good luck! (On-other-hand, if you get tons of responses I'm an idiot. There that should inspire people here to help you out... ) -Bill Edited November 13, 2005 by STLBILL Quote
