i just received my toomey T5... they are awsome!! way better than fatties. the kit include the perfect jetting shit. they say to put in the needle at the fourth clip. i already have 260 main in so its ok. my question is, what does the needle do to my jetting? right now, just with the 260 jet it runs great... idle very low but does not die.

First of all, not to be a dick but.... we have a jetting forum here where you'd get more replies.

Now I never like to recommend moving the clips from the middle notch, which is the stock position. The needles control the largest part of the powercurve, they control jetting from aproxx 1\4 throttle to 3\4 throttle and moving the clip up or down on the needle represents a big shift in the overal jetting, moving the clip will effect your final main jet size too. With the mods you have,I'd be keeping the needle in the stock notch. The needle clips move the jetting so much that aftermarket needles come with clips and little washers so you adjust the clips in half notches instead of moving them full notches. Be forwarned if you move the clips to the 4th notch, you'll have to re-dial in the mains and re-adjust your idle screws and should prolly swap out your pilots too.

Do you live\ride at any extreme altitudes ?

260's are way small. I run 320's at sea level with air box, lid removed. Jet up.

320 is wayyy too rich... i still have my air box, with the lid removed and my plugs are brown. a little bit on the rich side. im gonna adjust my air screws... cuz it idles veryyy low. and ill do a plug chop.
