AllMotor347 Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 I just bought a 99 Banshee, and once I got it I decuded to start fresh and rebuild the Top end, I got the Vito's superlite pistons and their recomended jet kit, The bike has FMF Fattys with powercores, it has a foam filter and the lid is removed, it also has a boost bottle, The jet kit they sent me has 340 and 330 mains with 27.5 pilots and new needles they tell me to use the 340 mains and the 27.5 pilots with the new needle in the middle, I set the bike up like this and the bog was huge the bike was not rideable, to tore the carbs back apart leaned out the needle one clip and installed the stock pilots, this improved the bike so it was almost rideable but it will still bog hard and usually stall from a start unless its revved up and dumped once the bike is going it will snap out of the bog when the revs go up and yank the wheels off the ground in fourth, also on my left carb in the float bowl there was what seemed to be a jet but there was not one in the right carb so I removed it from the bowl and that is how i am running right now, what is this jet? any advice would be greatly appreciated also where can i buy a jet kit with a large array of jets so that i can ride my bike again thanks for the help Quote
01 B4C Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 Sounds and acts like your pilot jet fell out. Did you check if they are both in? Quote
AllMotor347 Posted August 23, 2005 Author Report Posted August 23, 2005 Both pilots are in place, Quote
wesw Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 raise your needle to the 4th clip, and try some 310 mains to 330s i bet you will be good on the 310s Quote
AllMotor347 Posted August 24, 2005 Author Report Posted August 24, 2005 should i use the stock pilots? Quote
AllMotor347 Posted August 24, 2005 Author Report Posted August 24, 2005 and when you say fourth clip to you mean 4th from the blunt end or fourth from the long end Quote
wesw Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 try the stock pilots the 4th clip is the 4th one down from the blunt end. you are raising the needle for more fuel. Quote
AllMotor347 Posted August 29, 2005 Author Report Posted August 29, 2005 should I use the stock needle or the vito's needle? Quote
