i bet you are talking about the plug that lets you remove the rod the forks slide on from the left side of the case. am i right? cause i lost one, and all my oil, once too. luckily the oil mixed with the sand i was in and it kept the plug in place.

go to the dealer and tll him to let you look at the parts fiche. itll be under transmission probably.

OR GO HERE

that link is to the yamaha online parts diagram. follow these prompts

Step 1: ATV Parts

Step 2: any year will do

Step 3: bansee

then go down to the section for shiftcam/fork. check out part 18. is that it?

ya thanks gimmeabeer. i think thats it. it is what allows you to pull the rod or fork out. when you look in the hole you can see it? and there are 2 of them and the one that fell out on mine is right under the sprocket. how much do you think those would cost? thanks

Thats amazing Cole.

I have no idea what that is either.

Is it a seal of some sort between the shaft and the case?

I'm going to look tomorrow.......I don't remember ever seeing something like that.

it is a plug on the left side of the cas, i believe ther is one just in front of the countershaft. you can slide those shift rods out from either side, but the other one is just a c-clip holding it in. my guess is that there so yamaha can mill that to very closer tolerances with out some vey expensive tooling. :shrugani:

Yeah....what kind of beer do we need to start drinking?

I drink Corona mostly, and obviously I'm still down around the "bag of hammers" area.
