my clymer's diagram shows a small flat washer between the clip on the needle, and the holding plate that screws to the slide. well, neither of mine have that washer in there. :o i'm the only one that's ever worked on it, and i sure don't remember them being there, or missing them last time ( the only time) i had them apart. it apparantly doesn't have much affect cuz it's been a long... time since i moved the needle clip last. but it does occasionally have a sputter in the mid range. would that be from those washers missing and letting the needle move a little?? if you guys think they are necessary, i'll replace them, but if not i'm not gonna worry about it. :confused:

I don't remember my stock carbs being like that. I believe the dyno needles use a washer along with the clip to achieve a have step in the needle change but that's it.
