BansheeCJ3 Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 I just bought a Blaster this weekend, got it running good, but its vibrating like a mother. I dont think the crank bearings are bad. The motor is in tight... I know its not about a banshee, but does anybody know what can be causing it to vibrate so bad??? CJ Quote
wesw Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 well vibrating at idle or 1/2 throttle or moving down the road. say 10 mph or like 60 mph many variables for advice is needed Quote
BansheeCJ3 Posted June 23, 2005 Author Report Posted June 23, 2005 not so much idleing. Its mostly when im riding in the gears...the higher the rpms, the more vibrating... it hurts so bad, i have to take my feet off the footpegs till the rpms go down. Quote

BansheeCJ3 Posted June 23, 2005 Author Report Posted June 23, 2005 yes...it vibrates in nuetral revving it up. Quote
thegroup Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 check all the bolt around the motor and see if they just might be loose. if not, i dont know what to tell ya Quote
BansheeCJ3 Posted June 24, 2005 Author Report Posted June 24, 2005 I did that...I'll go over it again tho. It makes me mad because it was supposably blown up...but here the piston ring was just stuck in the piston, so i got it unstuck and it had compression and ran but then it made a clunk'n noise in the motor. I thought the whole bottom end was shot, but here the key way was busted and the fly wheel was just lose. I put it back together and it ran good, but vibrated so bad. It's like i keep making out good by fixing it, but everytime i fix it, theres another problem. I'm trying to get this thing good for just the $550 that i paid for it. I'm trying not too stick too much money into it. I was hoping just to buy all new gaskets for the motor then sell it. Quote

Guest nightmare Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 I just had a similar problem with my wife's. I changed the gasket on the clutch cover. Then I had troble getting it to start, and when it started it rattled and vibrated. Turned out I broke off the oil line from the pump to the carb. It tore off up at the carb and was running lean. put a new one on and fixed the problem. I have since gotten a oil injection block off. Just don't trust it. Quote
fixitrod Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 If someone tore the motor apart before you got it they may have not aligned the weight in the tranny properly with the crank. It's number 2 in this diagram http://216.37.204.202/yamaha_oem/YamahaATV...pe=13&A=113&B=5 There is a gear that you can see when you take the clutch side cover off. It has a dot on it. That dot should meet the dot on the crank gear when rotating. If they don't you'll get a terrible vibration. Quote
jeffdunn45 Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 the counterbalancer could have been taken out Quote
fixitrod Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 the counterbalancer could have been taken out 385368[/snapback] That's the weight I'm talking about. Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Id agree with the counterbalancer. You said you checked the crank bearings, but did you check the counterbalancer bearings?? Quote
