sheefreak Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 A friends Banshee was running fine one weekend and all of a sudden it's running funny and the right side isn't firing, or barely at all. Changed spark plug, switched plug caps around, cleaned carbs, fuel lines to both carbs are brand new. Did a compression test and came up w/190 both sides. The shitter is my buddy was running 93 octane for last 2 months he has owned machine. Claims he did a compression test when first aquiring machine and only came up w/135 per side. Does have a cool head, not sure what size domes. Any suggestions? Also he is getting oil seeping out of the pipe, but not spraying out. When i had a bad crankseal, oil would just spray out the pipe, but would still fire fine. He has aftermarket 34mil kheins, tors has been eliminated. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Is it possible there is a problem in the right side and still get a good compression reading? Quote
wayfst Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 pull the head off and see what's what in there. if everything is cool, then look at the stator and then the cdi and secondary coil. i would do it in that order. Quote
sheefreak Posted June 15, 2005 Author Report Posted June 15, 2005 Thanks wayfst, anyone else w/thoughts on this problem? Quote
97banshee350 Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 could be a broke or cracked reed pedel, i cracked one of my right side reed pedals and it would run on the left but nothing on the right, check your reeds. Quote
bansheefreestyler Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 my shee will do that when i dont warm it up or when i ride it in the winter. i just hold my hand over that silencer while its running and rev it and then it starts up again. i duno if that is ur problem though Quote
