I know the magic number on here is .030, I done my researching but in some posts guys mention my crank coming aprt if it isnt trued and welded, I just redone my whole motor and now I'm wanting to get my head milled my crank isnt trued and welded. I mostly ride woods, hairscrambles. would .030 still be good to take off and if I do take that much of do I have to mess with my squish?

thanks alot for the info guys.

some peeps do.035 or even .040 off ,if it were me id have .035 off, this keeps the squish band clearance safe and still yeilds a 20.8 ccc dome volume. and good for 93 octane fuels too.

adds several pounds of torque and 3-4 horsepower too. :)

.030 and squish and crank will be fine, above about .035 and the squish needs to be recut or you will get into squish clearance issues ( piston edges will contact the domes if they get carbon buildup, or too little squish clearance can also cause detonation)

.35 is getting to the close range . the safest bet is .30 ..i would stay with .30 than start playing the gambleing game .. there is people that have .35 over or little more and getting away with it . but .30 is safe and still gives you the power
