laserbunny Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I am looking to modify my banshee more and still be able to run pump gas. I have a +6 swing arm, t-6's, dual k&n's, rejetted, i have the extreme haulers. all i do is sand. mostly trails like in coos bay but i have also been to dumont and glamis. i don't do too much sand drags but i like to take off on the face of the hill. it comes in handy on some of the trails at florence. I hear about shaving the head or going with the noss head, how far can i go without race gas? Also i see an advance key. I also read about porting but haven't done it yet either, I am trying to figure out what setup before i start more. i jumped into the pipes before researching anything. any help would be appreciated. fixitrod Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 A plus 6 arm seems to extreme for just duning. As far as using pump gas... do not get more than about 155 psi with no more than 4 deg timing advance and you can do just about anything mod wise. A good top end pipe and a good port job would be the way to go for pwr. You don't want those t6's for a ported motor. Just don't go to crazy with compression or timining advance and you'll be fine. You can safely take .035 from the head. Boonman on this board can do it for you. He also lightens flywheels and modifies shift stars. Quote
Ducman Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Mill head .030, advace timing +4, lighten flywheel, mild/clean up port, If you go with a full dune port then get t-5's/CPI/ rockets. Pump gas will work fine. Adding compresion is mainly for low end, but if you don't need it then you won't need race fuel. Quote
laserbunny Posted April 7, 2005 Author Report Posted April 7, 2005 shift stars? I haven't heard of those. Thanks for all of the other info though. Quote
