theeechozen1 Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 just got her back together...new everything on top I was running a 180 main with the stock porting, and I can't seem to get enough gas to this thing. I keep going up on the main jet and it signs off too early. I have a 205 in it and it pulls strong up to around 6500 rpm then the power falls off in a hurry.....plug looks good, but there has to more pull left in it. Any of you guys running a 2-1 with porting have any ideas? I'm going to pick up some bigger jets tonight. trinity intake---38 PWK trail port dek needle..3rd clip 52 pilot 4500' elevation 205 main ....pulls strong but does not rev out far at all Quote
sredish Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 When I ported my motor, the std. DEK needle didn't have enough taper to let the main really give it the fuel. I had to go to an EEK needle. Same exact needle except the taper is steeper so it comes on to the main a tad sooner and lets it give it more fuel at 3/4 to WOT. My machine ran much better that way. I was up to a 230 main with the DEK and backed off to 205 with the EEK. Give CarbParts.com a call and tell you need that needle. They'll get it to you quick. Quote
theeechozen1 Posted March 28, 2005 Author Report Posted March 28, 2005 sounds like the same thing to me, I got it running good and reving out nice after I put a 225 in it. I will get a EEK needle and keep tuning. Thanks for the help! Quote
