MILO Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 (edited) WTF!! i've just ordered a hinson clutch set up and got a call and was told the inner hub has been discontinued for the 'stock' 7/6 plate set up, and that they only make it for the 8 plate now. i did't want their 8 plate so i have options in the future of using different brands clutch kits, not to mention the outrageous price for their kit. i hate to mix and match components from other brands too much, and i sure don't want to replace the inner hub with the stock pos. any advice besides ebay? wesw Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 i got their whole system. its an 8 disk one. its a good setup but you will have to sand or file the clutch cover boss on the inside of the clutch cover or the pressure plate will grind into it. i didnt know this at first, it would kill my engine. took it apart adn say shavings so i got the air sander out and files the boss down some 1/8 i think works great now Quote

wesw Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 by the boss i mean the stud caseings on the inside of the clutch cover. there are 3 little tangs where the screws hold the clutch cover deal. sand about 1/8 down to get them to work roughly. is it worth it, dont know i broke the inner hub stubs, so i ordered this kit. yeah its expensive, pretty though. i was like might as well buy some good parts. while my bike it tore apart. i got mine kit from motorcycle superstore.com i think is the addy do a search on yahoo.com for hinson clutch you should see a link for them. passionre talked like he could have got me a better deal, dont know what price though. paid like 700 for it roughly the whole kit. dont buy the cushion kit also waste of money and the basket somes with them. Nmotion out of wichita makes a 9 disk setup with a pancake bearing in the flywheel so the rod wont weld to the ball. might be an option also. you could check them out also. Nmotiontechnology.com i think i would suggest you get something called a clutch pusher. http://www.wickedatv.com/duportal30/home/c...hannel=Products this solve a lot of problems, if you buy the hinso kit or if you still use the stock setup. later wes Quote
