I'm new to this and just want to get some advice from people who really know what's going on. I have a 04 banshee and I'm trying to get horse power out of it, beside's the Rocket Pipes,K&N filter, and 30mm cpk carbs my banshee is stock and I want to see what else I could do to it to go faster a buddy of mine got his head milled and he said it made a big difference I want to hear from other people that have more experiance with these motor's and see if I should get a after market head or have mine stock one work on. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Boosting compression is a good thing but like most engine mods, there are issues. A shaved head will give improved compression but you get what you got when it's done. An aftermarket head allows you to select the compression and change it whenever you want. It also gives you improved cooling. The down side is the money they cost. Keep in mind too that significantly increasing the compression will effect your jetting and even fuel choice. So build your banshee to your riding style and not to make it like the magazines. Some guys on here ride alot of dunes and who wouldn't want a stretched dune runner. But for the trails I ride, it would be a mistake. The best thing to do is let us know what kind of riding you do and where you think you want improvement and the guys who ride like that can give you specific help.

I do alot of riding out at Glamis, hit the dunes and do a little racing nothing to serious when I changed out my carb a friend of mine told me to send my carb out to be bored out from the stock 26mm to 30mm when I looked into how much it would cost I found a set of carb that were 30mm and new for the same price I like how the respond they are 30mm d-slide carbs from carb parts warehouse the only thing I have not mastered is how to rejet them properly the carb use the same jets as keihin carbs but I figure what size jet's will work better when I try to launch in 2nd gear the bike bogs but the top end is great someone told me my pilots were to lean another person said it was to rich on the bottom I'm just lost before I try both way's I like to see if someone can help with that alson.
