1sreamin350 Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 I have the stock 26mm carbs and Im thinking of opening up the filter and engine side. I have a few dremmel stones, I just need to know, how much should I bore out? If anyone has any suggestions on what to do or how to do it please reply. Would be a big help. Quote
DIRTBIKEZ Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 Wouldnt attempt it with those tools. You should take it to a machinist and have them bored out. Quote
1sreamin350 Posted December 30, 2004 Author Report Posted December 30, 2004 (edited) I also have a die ginder with the hole bit kit. I think it should be ok, just for taking a little metal off. Edited December 30, 2004 by 1sreamin350 Quote
BansheeGuy_IV Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 No Dude, Those are precision venturis that require a precision bore. Leave it alone. You won't gain any power by boring them anyway. You'll be sorry if you try to bore them, especially yourself without the proper equipment. I think it was Banchetta who showed that stock, bored carbs, show a loss in Horsepower on the dyno. BG Quote
BdBanshee Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 They need to both be exactly the same size. Only a machinist can do that for you. Quote
1sreamin350 Posted December 30, 2004 Author Report Posted December 30, 2004 Ok guys, I decided to just break down and take them in. Thanks for the warning. I'm glad I posted this before I did it. Usually I just try and do things my self.. Without thinking what could happen in the end. Quote
