tinyman Posted December 26, 2004 Author Report Posted December 26, 2004 hi sorry i havent got a camera at the moment, the piece of steel is approx 2cm square with one side of it is burred like it has been wearing on some thing, also is anything special required to remove the stator so i can see in there further thanks tiny Quote
JKJK Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 which side did the unknown piece come out of?stator or clutch.to pull the flywheel you'll need the correct flywheel puller.it sounds to me like the problem is on the other side with the shift star assembly area.do you have a clymers manual to refrence?also look+see if their is still a c clip on the tranny shaft that holds the idler gear on.the idler gear won't come off whithout removing the clutch housing assembly, but i could bind up if the c clip is gone. BdBanshee Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 Usually this is caused by the shift shaft centering screw breaking off. It is located behind the right side clutch cover. Here is a pic from the manual, #3 is the centering screw. Quote
