bansheecaptain Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 I'm running 94 octane right now and i'm wondering if i go with a dune/trail port and maybe a long rod or a +4 crank could i till use pump gas or do i need to run something higher becuase anything higher then pump here cost a arm and a leg.. and if it does need more then pump what can i do so that i can still run pump gas Quote
Ryda85 Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 best thing to do is talk to a builder....they will port / design your engine with what you want to use. with 94 octane i think you can use a 21 cc dome size with an aftermarket head. like i said..talk to any respectable builder and they will walk you through all possible options. Ducman Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 You can get ported and run 94, the only tradeoff is that if you get a radical port and have to run low compression domes to go with the 94 octane your low end HP will suck, but top end will still kick ass. When you raise the exhaust ports it lowers your static compression which hurts bottom end but increased dynamic compression (when you get "on the pipe") and helps top end HP. One nice thing about the 4mm stoker crank is that it will add low end torque so you can get away with a little bit more top endy port job and lower compression and not loose as much ridability on the bottom end power as with the stock crank. bansheecaptain Posted December 24, 2004 Author Report Posted December 24, 2004 how do i turn my crank into a +4 ..were do i get the rods and stuff and do i need to send it off to get done can a local store do it ... my planes were to go with eric gor for a port do i also send him the crank and get him to make it a stroker or a long rod Quote
