Hard to say since I haven't even gotten to the hard part yet. If its a total bitch I probably won't make anymore whereas if its not too much of a hassle I'll make a few more and sell em for less than $100. I got my 35 PWK off ebay for $68 shipped and that's what I'm taking the measurements off of. Different carbs might require different size tubing.

Kinda off the subject but along the same lines of what we are talking about here. Why does a part like the pipe hangers cost so much. I mean a lot of those parts can be made at home by using a scrap piece of aluminum. I dont understand who sets the prices for some things but $1200 for a set of shocks? WTF, I mean I can put new shocks on my pickup for a fraction of that. Also $300 for a stator cover. If I were to chrome everything and upgrade everything to aftermarket I could be in the hole $25K. Theres not a Banshee in the world that I would spend that kind of money on. Shit you can get a damn nice ride for $25. So what have you all done to add some bling to your bike but avoid spending so much money on all the parts?

Ill agree ATV parts are balls expensive. But alot of them are hand fabbed...like A arms and stuff and that all takes time. Some just takes alot of testing..such as shocks and companies want to make money off their big investment. But most importantly is people buy the stuff for that price!!!! a few companies are starting to step up and make stuff at reasonable prices...look at rocky montain atvs tusk, arc, g force, longhorn stuff. Works has supposedly come out with a new shock that performs real nice and is cheap. The market has been pretty small for the past few years...now its getting bigger, expecially the race part and things are going to be cheaper.

Oh and how to save money...buy used!! when ever Im looking for something new I always check ebay or the for sale section here for a deal. You can save big bucks on used parts. Recently i got a set of V-force in mint shape for 170, intake for 125, 33pwks with K&Ns for 200....

I was looking for a new front brake lever. Found a nice RTC lever. $40 bucks. Forty dollars for a stinkin' brake lever. Its crazy.

I guess I can see billet aluminum parts costing more because of the CNC costs and the costs of billet alum.

man, i feel you there about fab'in your own parts. id like to make some of my own arms, but i dont really want to pour that kind of capital into a tubing bender. not to mention im sure the first few sets would be trash, :flush: since i have zero chassis design experience. although i am good in trig, so i got that goin for me. :headbang:

off the top of my head... I think the dies were 150-200 bucks apeice depending on what degree they bent to. The degree wheel was another $125 and I think the bender itself was $250 or 300. All the prices are listed somewhere on thier site. Whatta think about that bender ? Looks nice to me, doesn't look like Chinese crap, in fact I think they proudly say made in the usa on their website. I wanna fiddle around with frames and removable subframes. Looks like a ton of fun to me.
