Holyman Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 Do you have the hoses connected to the bottle the right way? The hose that comes from the radiator goes into the BOTTOM of the coolant bottle. The discharge hose comes out of the top of the bottle. Quote

I know someone that ran their lines the wrong way and it did puke everywhere. Quote
bansheefreak Posted July 18, 2004 Author Report Posted July 18, 2004 (edited) yeah the hose are hooked up right other wise the water would run out sitting there... and the jetting is good.. i have 320's on main. running shaved head, dmc pipes and clamp on's. some porting work if anything i'm rich ... also i don't think is overheating cus it will run out right after i start it up and do a 6th gear run...plus it don't seem to be hott... bansheefreak Posted July 18, 2004 Author Report Posted July 18, 2004 if you had the exit hose hooked to the bottom it wouldn't just run out????? Quote
bansheefreak Posted July 18, 2004 Author Report Posted July 18, 2004 (edited) i'll double check it tomorrow but i'm sure i got the exit hose on top.... thanx for the responces thou i guess if hose is not on wrong it has to be the cap.... Edited July 18, 2004 by bansheefreak Quote
Holyman Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 (edited) Yeah that's what I meant. If you have the hose coming from the radiator cap down to the bottom of the coolant bottle, then you're right it won't leak out. When you have the rad cap off, can you see it burping bubbles in the rad? You still may have a head leak or a cracked jacket or something. But hoses came to mind at this point. If the coolant is leaking from the discharge hose on the coolant bottle then I doubt it's the rad cap. It shows the rad cap is working by relieving the pressure to the coolant bottle. The other guy on here who is blowing his hoses off seems to have a rad cap issue. Are you losing coolant from somewhere other than the coolant bottle? When you say you're losing coolant how is it being lost? Edited July 18, 2004 by Holyman Quote
bansheefreak Posted July 18, 2004 Author Report Posted July 18, 2004 the coolant just comes out of the discharge hose...when i take cap off it does not bubble...also the coolant does not pour out it just kinda has a steading drip unless going real fast...kinda like if gravity is helping it come out...it was doing this before and after i relocated the bottle, changed the billet water impellar, inline cooler, orings and gasket.... Holyman Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 So the bottle is totally full while it's dripping? Quote
BdBanshee Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 I got a couple of bad Cometic head gaskets that caused mine to do the same thing. Put a OEM Yamaha head gasket on and no more problems. I have also had at least two other friends with the same problem and cure. Quote
