Perpetual Child Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I finally got my quad jetted properly (i think). Im using fattys K&N airfilter and dynojet with 280 main jets. Anyway, I got my shee started but it will NOT idle.... it dies if i dont give it gas funny thing is when I use it for about 2 mins. it idles like if I were flooring the gas all the way down. I have to kill the engine or pop the clutch just not to blow the engine. Whats goin' on? Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 When it revs high. I believe it is because a slide is stuck wide open. What ever it is banshees have been known to do this. This is why we have the TORSystem. Try taking the carb apart and cleaning it. My friends did it once after we jetted it one time. I think it got dirt in it because we just got done riding and the carbs were still dirty ( I know it's stupid but it was his quad not mine). Anywhays we cleaned the carb and it never did it again. As for the idle prob I have fattys and run air screw at around 2 1/2 turns out. I'd try the air screw or adjust the idle a lil higher. That usually works for me. good luck Quote
mrmatt Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 If cleaning your carbs doesn't help with the high idle, check your throttle cable. Sometimes that can get in a bind and cause the slides not to come back down. Quote
svtkid78 Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Check and make sure you have enough throttle freeplay. That was my prob with the same symptoms. Quote
