you should start your motor and let it idle just blipping it a little to take it off idle for about 5 min and then shut it down and let it set for several hours before doing it again. You should do this 6 times till you get 30 min on the motor then ride it for about 15 min just getting on it a little dont top it out. do this twice then you can ride it but ride it easy for the firts few times. Its the heating and cooling of the motor that sets the rings.

anyone else have a take on this??

If you go to duncanracing.com enter the site then go to tech center and their is a link in there for break in procedures or you can follow the one in the clymer manual.

The one in the Clymer manual is kinda creepy to me.It wants you to mix a 16:1 ratio of oil and fuel.If you read it through you could have the motor ready to rip within an hour according to page 146.

The Ducan procedure seems alot more safe.

I say a good warmup with some little throttle blips the night before you

ride. Then a good warm up with throttle blips before a first easy ride.

Let her fully cool and then shes ready for some drag racing as long as

your jetting is on. I base this on nothing technical or specific so take

it for what its worth. Works for me.
