svtkid78 Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 need some help gettin the tors kit on. do you install slides springs etc. then hook it up to the other half that goes to the throttle assembly Quote
boonman Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 Get the carbs drilled and tapped for the idle kit. Then, put the carb tops on the new cable. Put the cable(s) into the slide(s). "thread" the spring onto the cable. Insert the slide into the carb, with the cutaway facing the air cleaner. Hook up the throttle, disconnect the TORS brain under the left side of the tank, and fire it up. Set the idle, and go ride. (oh yea, don't forget to file alot of material fro mthe side of the carb where the idle screw goes.). You don't happen to know what size tap it is? It should be marked on the tap. If you could tell me what it is, that would be great!!! Quote
svtkid78 Posted June 30, 2004 Author Report Posted June 30, 2004 The tap size is M6 * 0.75. So I put the slides on first without the spring then just thread the spring around the cable. I am just having a problem getting the two cables to stay in the little plastic peice that connects them to the upper portion of the cable that goes to the assembly. Quote
boonman Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 (edited) You can put the other end of the cable in the throttle housing, and hook it to the throttle. THis will keep some tension on the cable.... And it won't let the cable pull out.......EDIT::: And thanks for the tap size!!! Edited June 30, 2004 by boonman Quote
