Guest Yamaha Banshee Rider Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 When i start my banshee, a little gas spits out the right exhaust pipe and both sides seem to be lossing pressure. And when i ride, it feels like it is losing power. When i stop and then go, it bogs a little when i push the throttle and then revs up after pushing the throttle. Can anybody help me. Quote
Blacksmith Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Give us a little more info on the bike. How old is it, and how much has it been ridden? What are your mods? What altitude are you at? How are you jetted? Have you done a compression check? What have you done to fix the problem? What bore are you on? When was the last rebuild? Is your air cleaner clean??????????????? Quote
Guest Yamaha Banshee Rider Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Well, the compression on both sides is 125 and the motor was just rebuilt before i bought it. The motor that i have in mine is a 2003 motor, everything in it is brand new and replaced with new 2003 and 2004 parts. and the air filters are clean, and the year is a 1987 with a 2003 motor in it. I don't know my jetting settings, but i will find out. Quote
Blacksmith Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 If your compression is 125 then I think you need to print off a copy of the jetting FAQ and work through the whole thing. I would bet that your problem is simply jetting. Quote
Guest Yamaha Banshee Rider Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Well, yea it is the jets. And well the carbs have to be taken apert and need to be cleaned and adjusted. The floats need to be adjusted and what not. but yea, it is the jets, but its not just that, its more. The pistons and rings and the carbs. thats my problem. I think Quote
Blacksmith Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 If you have 125 lbs of compression, then I really doubt that you have a piston or ring problem, unless you had a lot more compression than that in the past. Quote
