QuadMX Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 I forget where it was, in WI somewhere close to me. My parents friends know the people really well. There was a guy and his 10 year old son riding a 4 wheel drive of some sort. The dad said no more and the son begged one more time. So the dad began to drive around one more lap and was going up a hill and it flipped backwords on top of them killing the 10 year old boy. Neither were wearing helmets, the father is ok except maybe left with guilt for not stopping when he said he was going to. Just a really horrible story. Quote

MILO Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 how many stories like this does it take before people realize how important helmets are? here in pa., they just did away with the helmet law for bikes on the street too. wearing seatbelts is mandatory by law in a car in pa., yet there's people cruising and ripping around on bikes and quads without helmets. poker runs here require helmets, and i've seen guys go 1/2 a mile from the start, and take off their helmet and strap it on the back of their ride for the day. it doesn't make sense. guns, bikes, and atv's don't kill. it's careless, irresonsible, negligent people. i'm sorry for that family's loss, and pray for them. it's sad that people have to learn things the hard way.
