boonman Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 1 gallon of fuel is equal to 128 ounces. So, if you wanted a 40:1 mixture, and you had a 5 gallon fuel can, (with 5 gallons of fuel in it of course.. ) you would take 128 x 5 = 640. 640/40=16. So, with 640 ounces of fuel-(5 gallons) you would add 16 ounces of oil for a 40: 1 mix. You can do it any way you like it... Quote
