Petey Abreu Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 I traded my yz250f for an 02 banshee. I want to clean the carbs on my banshee. Is there anything that I need to do, as far as synchronizing the carbs is concerned ??? And is it something that I can do myself or should I have somebody do it for me ??? Thanks for the info Quote
[email protected] Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 you don't need a sync tool. use your eyes that you were given. remove the airbox/filters whatever blocks your view and make sure both lift at the same time. don't look down the bells. find a spot to look at between the carbs and use your peripheral vision 1 Quote
Bennett131 Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 The vacuum tool is a lot more accurate than using your eyes though. Quote
ETR174 Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 While you have it apart get calipers and set them to 21mm. Lock them and use the rod sticking out and put it where the bowl gasket will mount. You want the carb up side down. Bend the floats to the bottom of the caliper so your floats are set right. Check your float needle and look for a groove. if it has a grove and its leaking gas out the overflow get 2 carb rebuild kits. You can use peripheral vision like said above but a sync tool is a more fine measurement. I don't have a sync tool I just use my eyes to set them. 1 Quote
Bennett131 Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 Really this was like a month ago? And your eyes are not even close to being as accurate as the vacuum tool. 1 Quote
