Juss11 Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 I just installed new bearings and oil seals in my carrier. Once back together If i turn axel nut even hand tight the axel will not turn. I know its togetther right. Tore it a part checked it out again, took the spacer out put it back together problem solved. Forsome reason the bearings are pushing up against the spacer. Has anyone had this problem before. Can I run it without the spacer? Bearings and seals are OEM Yamaha. Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 If you run it without the spacer, the bearings won't last long. The spacer is there to prevent the side load on the bearing, from tearing them apart. The spacer has to be positioned properly, on the centers of the bearings, or things won't go together right. If that wasn't the problem, then maybe there is some rust, or other crap on one end of the spacer, that is causing things to bind up, when it's all assembled. Quote
Juss11 Posted September 18, 2013 Author Report Posted September 18, 2013 Went ahead and ordered a new spacer Quote
