kodie Posted September 3, 2013 Report Share Posted September 3, 2013 I have a 2003 dodge ram 1500 hemi 4x4. It has the turn knob on the dash. It worked fine last winter. I just tried to put it in 4 wheel drive to get out of a field and the knob turns but it doesn't engage. I put it in neutral and still won't engage, (high or low).A few months ago before I discovered this problem I did take the trans pan off and change the filter and filled the trans back up. ClayAiken Posted September 3, 2013 Report Share Posted September 3, 2013 Solenoid that engages the transfercase is probably stuck. Its usually a round black solenoid on the side of the transfercase.
