I did the leak down test at 7lbs for 7 minutes and after 8 minutes, I had 1lb on the gauge. Is this acceptable? Has anyone sucessfully held 7lb for 7 minutes with no loss in vacuum?

Also, is there any harm after sealing the case having the extra beading inside? I noticed some sealant on the crank after bolting the case up and I wiped off what I could see from the opening.

it sounds as though you have a leak in there somewhere. You should have 0 leakage. Although, you could have a leak at the rubber exhaust plug that you used, or something else like that that could be unrelated motor wise. And some sealant inside usually doesn't hurt a thing. but, if it gets in the wrong places and if theres alot of it, it could cause you difficulties. I would check everything that you used for the leakdown test, and make sure it is sealed up..... Before you go pulling the cylinders and what not....

The only problem I can really see with the leakdown test is the exhaust plugs. I have bought 3 different 2 1/2" pairs (home depot, lowes, and autozone) and none fit correctly. Tried the plastic, galvanized, auto type, and the bottom plate doesn't fit striaght into the exhaust port.

Dan at Patriot stated that 1lb a minute loss is acceptable. Is acceptable a bad thing that will lead to a 350cc time bomb? What should I do here?

All my buddies with 4 strokes are riding and I've been out of commission for about 5 months now.
