Abe Posted May 12, 2013 Report Posted May 12, 2013 So I've heard it both ways and I need to know if its OK to powder coat stock banshee a-arms? I know on the yfz and newer raptors that the upper ball joints have a plastic bushing that melts out and ruins them but was thinking it was ok to do the factory banshee stuff Quote
Starwriter Posted May 12, 2013 Report Posted May 12, 2013 Yes, there is definitely plastic in the ball joints. Yes it will melt. Some people have done it successfully by positioning them so the ball joint stud faces up and the plastic supposedly hardens back without running out onto the floor. Some people claim that the powder can be cured with heat lamps. Personally, I would never risk my life on resolidified plastic in the ball joints. Either paint them, chrome them, or buy aftermarket arms. Quote
Abe Posted May 12, 2013 Author Report Posted May 12, 2013 Thanks starwriter, so all the OEM Yamaha bj have the plastic ? Quote
