Need help with cases swap

Guy I just picked up a 98 Banshee and it needs cases swapped , is there some where I can find specs like torque setting and steps on how to do this. I built a few motors on cars and bikes but never a two stroke. Can anyone give me steps on diy

Get ya a clymer or equivelant. Mine has step by step and all the specs you'd need. Bigred350x did a picture tutorial on here somewhere too.

Its actually Very simple process the first time. Clean work area and organization is a must.

 

Also like Dave said, a Clymers is good to have kicking around!

Tru and weld crank

Replace all seals

Porting

Mod trans

Advance timing

Billet pump impeller and gear

Pancake bearing

Etc. etc.

Make sure you replace the cases as a set, both top and bottom. The way Yamaha machines the cases at the factory, they are a matched set. You cannot use a different top with your bottom or your top with a different bottom. Make sure your crank is in good shape and I would get it welded while it is apart. My first crank came apart when the bike was a little over a year old with nothong more than pipes on it.Definetly replace ALL the seals while you are in there and make sure all the bearings and the shift forks are in good shape.

Like savage said, organization is KEY!! Don't sweat it though, pretty easy just take your time and follow the manual.
