It doesn't damage the portwork at all. I'm not sure if Millenium cleans up the ports or if that is something a builder will do, but it doesn't affect it. Quote

When I had mine replated a few years ago...every port was perfect, no chamferring needed, and a beautiful A-1 hone as well. Literally, wash it up with soapy water, oil the cylinders and install...
