Yammy2StrokesFtw Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 Hey everyone... I have an 05 banshee 4mm stroker,,, I went riding for about 10 minutes the other day and after getting off I went back to it in about 10 more minutes to go down the road and when i did this I got up to my friend to let him get on for a ride and as soon as he hopped on the back the banshee shut off as if I put on the kill switch...after it did that I couldnt get it fired up so I checked the plugs for spark and it has none...Uhg...Any ideas? I looked at all the wires they all look good Quote
zach45 Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 Do a once over on you harness. Maybe loose plug or ground.. Quote
ticktock Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 Throw an ohm tester on your stator, if you get a reading it should be good. if it 0's out, bad stator. check pick-up gap, .020. try a good plug, seen them not fire before but never both at the same time. make sure your harness didnt melt to the pipe on the right side of the airbox. Best I can tell you without seeing it. Adam Quote
Yammy2StrokesFtw Posted April 6, 2012 Author Report Posted April 6, 2012 Alright, where are the grounds? I didn't sell any on the harness itself Quote
ticktock Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 Ground is under the silver box by the CDI Quote
Yammy2StrokesFtw Posted April 6, 2012 Author Report Posted April 6, 2012 checked and sanded those grounds. Although that is just the voltage regulator for the lights...How would I test the stator? Where do I put my leads? also how can I test the cdi? Quote
ticktock Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 Ohm scale. Start hitting the 4 wires from the stator. I want to say .28 is good. But if there are 0's it's bad. You have anyone to do cdi swap with? Quote
Yammy2StrokesFtw Posted April 6, 2012 Author Report Posted April 6, 2012 Ok cool. yeah in a few hours a friend of mine should be letting me try his CDI...hopefully that it Quote
