streetplatoon Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 what would be the best way to check the coolant system for potential leaks on a new build ? as i was tunning it a bunch of white smoke shoots out when I rev it.... made me think theres a coolant leak Quote
Nieskes Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 You could pressure test the cooling system Quote
dirtydownunder Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 its a 13psi cooling system. you need a pressure tester, that you can T into the cooling system (the line that exits the top of the head and goes to the rad is a good spot) T into it, pump it up. look for leaks. you might be able to find a pressure tester cap for the rad, but i couldnt find one here. streetplatoon Posted March 9, 2012 Author Report Posted March 9, 2012 start it up. it will pressurize itself I would but I hv the pipes off.... thats when I noticed the leak, it was dripping from the domes so I replaced the orings and preasurized it with a radiator pressure tester I found at harbor frieght it held 15lbs for 1min... no drips ! so i called it good!
