sprinklerman Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 What's the benefit of having that, and how can I tell if it's in my carbs. 34 pj I never liked a CEL needle in my PJ carbs,, i prefered the DEK. I know that dosent help you any but just my opinion. Quote
sheerider11 Posted February 15, 2012 Author Report Posted February 15, 2012 So what's the difference. Is it the pitch of the taper? How high and low the notches go? Anything will help. Quote
sprinklerman Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 So what's the difference. Is it the pitch of the taper? How high and low the notches go? Anything will help. A DEK has a richer diameter ( affects about 1/8th throttle,,,thats the "D") and the taper is richer ( the "K") the length ( "E") is the same. They have the same amount of clip positions. Quote

Now my next question is, how can I tell what I have? also where can I find the info so I can just check myself so I can see what the difference is between all the needles. Quote
sleeper06 Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 the letters should vbe scribed on the side of the needle and go to keihins website, sudco or carb parts warehouse Quote
sprinklerman Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 ..what he said ^^ also , i think M&M's website has a needle chart on it. Quote
sheerider11 Posted February 15, 2012 Author Report Posted February 15, 2012 Alright thanks guys. Anyone have input on what and why this needle or that needle is better? Quote
camatv Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 read the jetting guide. read the needle chart. figure it out. no single "jet" is going to be perfect in your motor AND the motor right next to you. jet motors to what they want . the needle "range" is similar to the jet's "range". you need a differnt main for this and a differnt slow jet for that. needles are similar. usually i jet to the needle thats installed and if it doesnt like the mian choices i have OR the slow choices i have then the needle needs changed. most of the time the needle is a very fine tune adjstment IF the needle is in the close range to what the motor wants..
