turbotbird
Hi, I have a 1991 Yamaha Banshee and I am pulling the a-arms off of it to paint. I seem to be having an issue getting the joints out of the housing on the caliper/hub. Am I supposed to just drive the jopint out with a hammer? Or, is there something I am missing. Is there a special tool for heim joint removal? Thanks in advance. Mark
Phelps
hit the spindle with the hammer while pulling up on the a arm. dont hit the bolt/balljoint
Judge1
I had no luck banging on spindles to release. I unscrewed the the castle nut to bottom of stem and used a scrap piece of 2x4 up against stem. One good whack with hammer and poped right out, no damage to anything. this way the wood takes the blow and crushes on the nut with no damage to joint and you don't have hammered up spindles.
