Now whats with these guy's from South America stating that they have a 2010 or 2011? Just curious. Plus what was the demise of the Banshee and 2 strokes in general. Emissions? Quote
dirtydownunder Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 yep 2011 are sold here. the 4stroke is a demise if the 2 stroke, 4 stroke quads are alot better than a stock banshee, they have good power, suspension, frame everything haha. emissions in your country didnt help, but most moved to 4stroke quads anyway. Most of the people I know would rather have a 2 stroke. The 4 strokes were forced upon us because that is what the factories decided to make because the US government was cracking down on emissions. It was easier to build a hotrod 4 stroke such as a YFZ450 or TRX450R than it was to come up with a clean running 2 stroke. Very few people know how much maintenence is involved with the high performance 4 strokes when they buy them, if they did they would still want a 2 stroke. The people I ride with would rather have a 2 stroke, but the ones that don't wrench themselves buy a new bike every 2-5 years and 4 strokes are all you can buy, so that is why there are so many out there. dirtydownunder Posted July 26, 2011 Report Posted July 26, 2011 plenty of 2 stroke quads out there, if people really wanted them they would get one, you can get some pretty modded ones for cheap. they still sell 2 strokes here, and people rather the four strokes. every one i ask whos bought a 4 stroke, if they would buy a 2banger again, they say "fuck 2 strokes" all of them haha. we are a minority.
