When I asked the same question, everyone said bolt ons first. Bolt ons are usually considered intake, exhaust (of course you already have), followed by timing advance (4 degree) and cool head to increase compression for whatever fuel you are running. Of course you need to adjust your carb jetting to run well with these changes. Next step is porting the cylinders. Good luck and keep us posted on your upgrades. Quote

Trueblown Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 No there are little brass threaded piece in the bowl of the carb that can be taken out and swaped for different sized ones. Pull a carb off and flip it over and take the 4 screws out and then you should see a brass piece that looks like a nut. On the end or side it should have numbers. The bigger the number the bigger the jet. There is a whole inside the peice there and thats what the number references. Thats your main jet. There is also a pilot jet. Quote

Trueblown Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 It all depends on where you live and tempature you ride in and mods done. They better pipes and pods setup need more fuel. Theres a section on here that will answer jetting questions in detail. But you need a list of mods, elevation, and normal riding temp. Also if you do a cool head with the smaller domes( less than like a 20) and run race gas you need bigger jets Quote

LS3 Machine Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Okay and what would be the best jet? what size I just installed a FAST racing cool head by NOSS machine. Seems to be the most popular. It went on fairly easy. Seems high quality. I fire it up today to look for leaks, and test it out. I went with 21cc domes for pump gas. There is a jetting sub forum with a thread listing all different jetting sizes for different setups. You can find a setup close to what your setup will be and buy jets that size, and maybe one or 2 bigger and smaller, and you should be set. Quote
