water pump impeller bearing

Just wondering if anyone knows if the water pump impeller bearing is suppost to sit flush in the clutch cover or if the bearing should sit up a little bit?

i use a socket and press the seal in(oil the outside if the seal), then oil the bearing and press that in, till it stops.

Agreed.

 

I always coat the bearing with grease and pack both lips on the seal with grease. Be careful to not pop the lil mini springs off.

 

Coat the impeller shaft and the big o-ring as well.

Thats my plan for sure, the socket seems to work well. when I removed the old one it was sitting a little bit above the case so I wasn't sure if this was normal or not. The seal seems pretty fragile so I didnt want to press too hard on it

it will be fine..

 

a friend of mine made me a bad ass installer for the seals and the bearing it fits in t eh cover the seal pops in the holder and you just ease it in there by hand everything lines up so nicely its installed by hand.
